Suicide is a growing issue in Irish society. It is estimated that more than 700 lives are lost to suicide in Ireland each year and for every life lost to suicide many more lives are broken by that loss.
ISIA member NOONAN is calling on the generosity and goodwill of its 7,500 staff to support the suicide prevention charity, 3Ts and help to raise awareness of the issue of suicide.
As a finale to NOONAN’s month long campaign in aid of suicide prevention charity, 3Ts, the NOONAN team will run a 24 hour relay in the Phoenix Park at 5pm on 11th September and finishing at 5pm on 12th September. NOONAN employees from every department and division and from all levels of seniority will participate to show their support for those bereaved by suicide and those struggling with their mental health.
RTE News Journalist Sinead Hussey and Spin 1038 DJ, Nikki Hayes will show their support for this very worthy cause by attending the start of this relay which will begin the day after World Suicide Prevention Day at 5pm on Thursday 11th September. FM 104’s Roadhog will broadcast live from the event on the 12th of September to help NOONAN to raise awareness for this important issue.
The 3Ts (turn the tide of suicide) is a registered charity working to raise awareness of the issue of suicide and to raise funds to help prevent future deaths by Suicide through dedicated research, intervention & support. 3Ts receives no Government funding and relies on fundraising activities such as this to enable it to carry out its lifesaving work. All funds raised by NOONAN will go directly to the 3Ts charity.
